Adding Filters to Link Field

I have seen an option to add a filter for the custom link field, but it’s not yet available. When will it be available?

I have also attached the link for the manual page

Feature is not available in version 15 yet. It will be available after version 15.

But question is: if this functionality is not available on last launched version why has been prepared documentation. This confused situation…
