I think this is the same issue as found here

To resolve this, the the file and correct

install_requires ='


install_requires ='\n')

After that, push your new app to github, delete the local app/yourapp folder, then run

$ bench get-app https://github/yourname/yourapp.git
$ bench install-app yourapp
