Doc naming counter reset after new year?

I would like to know, if the counter for the document naming is resetting after each new year, if there is the .YY. Year in the naming?

I don’t think it will reset the counter but you can use a script to check if it’s a new year. If true, then you set the value of the counter to zero.

Are you sure? I ask because it seemed to me due to an old post, that they do reset.

Naming Series Reset by Year

Hi, I have a naming series like INV/.YY.MM./.##### , I want to make the counter reset on each year only. So it keeps using same counter from previous month. How should I do to achieve that? Thank you.

@sternbj counter will reset after new year if the series has the year field in it .
