In other doctype it is working. But not in employee.

I have added a new field called “emp_series”. I want this value as the naming series for employee doctype.
Pleas check HR Setting also.
Still while saving HR-EMP- series is showing
I believe you don’t need to add new field for your custom series. When you customize the doctype, select naming series field and in options add your series. If you want your series to be default, then keep your series on first line.
I tried ‘Expression’ also but not working. HR-EMP- series only showing.
Some how I added field, but a ‘00001’ is showing. I have added that field through below screenshot
Can you share what you have actually set in emp_series field options?
Second screenshot: though you have added only {emp_series}, ##### are considered at the end of it. You can try how your series will look like in Try Naming Series field which is available in second screenshot. Also share options you set emp_series field.
the filed type should be select and then in option and default put the series number then it will work
also in hr setting if you set naming series then naming field name must be naming_series otherwise it will not work you can change the lable name but fieldname should be naming_series
I had treid everything. Only Employee Doctype has issue. I think this is erpnext’s bug.
You have set your series in Naming series field using Document Naming Setting feature.
