all bench commands only do anything when executed inside the frappe-bench folder.

Experienced users (like.the ones offering advice in this forum) are so used to this that they tend to forget to mention this at times. For novices of erpnext that often causes misunderstandings, confusion

Of course your command prompt is a smoking gun!

But also too this forum lists 1000s of tracebacks that would confirm you are in the wrong directory.

“Was this so hard to mention somewhere?”

So you are saying you did ask yourself this question :wink:
