Currently some level of Margin settings are possible in print formats with help of html/css.
Setup > Printing and Branding > Print Settings > Margins
will make it easy to setup margins for standard format.
This will also take care of space required to print on pre-printed stationery like letterhead to a degree.
I am currently using scaled blank transparent image as {{ letter_head }} to leave the space required to print on pre-printed letterhead. This way I can select between “company” or “blank” from Letter Head list as per printing / emailing requirement
