Frappe Builder AI Agent Can't Edit the Components

Hi,

Why is the AI Agent unable to edit any components? Now I’m having to edit and update the header and footer component in all pages one by one. Also when I edit any Component and Click “Sync to All Pages”, it doesn’t work. I enabled server script already. It can read the components but can’t write back.

@mitexleo am looking into this. Will share once this is resolved.

Both problems come from component version pinning. Each page pins the component version it was built with. The current “Sync in all pages” rebuilds the instances but keeps the old pin, so pages keep rendering the old version. The AI can’t edit a component definition at all: editing a block inside a component only creates an override on that page, and run_python is read-only by design. Enabling Server Scripts doesn’t change that.

Workaround until the fix is released:

  1. Right-click the header/footer → Edit Component → make your change → Save Component.

  2. Open each page that uses it. Click the arrow-up icon with the orange count in the top-right toolbar → Update all (or right-click the component → Update to Latest Component).

  3. Publish the page.

The fix is in https://github.com/frappe/builder/pull/823. It makes Sync re-pin every page to the latest version and gives the AI an edit_component tool.

The PR has been merged. Any idea when the next version will be released?
