I understand and value Frappe HR and Frappe being completely open source but sometimes it is too difficult to do Do it Yourself
I have 1500+ employees. When I upload it with the minimum data, fine, it works, but when I try to upload evething required i.e.
e-mail id is mandatory for user creation (our majoiryt of the workforce doesn’t have official email id and they even do not understand how to use gmail)- I updated the columns
Holiday list and shift updated
Still,
When I try to upload the data there is always an error and never a success
the fact is
Without reporting manager- I cannot see org structure
Without reporting manager, expense approval manager, leave approval manager - I cannot allow employee to apply for leave and unfortinately the bulk upload format doesn’t have it
I tried to do it multiple times and not happening
Any solution?
Hi @hopegovind
-
I suggest you look for a Frappe partner as they have the necessary experience
-
If you want a more budget friendly sollution you can advertise on TG Freelancer group
-
If you still want to DIY you can refer to the official docs
Best of luck in your implementation
Hi, since the minimum Employee import is working, I would first isolate the additional fields that are causing the import to fail rather than importing all 1500+ records repeatedly.
Could you share:
your Frappe/HRMS version
the exact error shown in the Data Import log
whether User creation is required for all employees
which fields you are currently using for reporting manager and leave/expense approvers
For a large employee import, I would normally import the core Employee records first, verify them, and then handle dependent relationships such as reporting hierarchy and approvers after the required Employee/User records already exist.
If you can share the exact import error (with employee/company details removed), it should be possible to identify which field or dependency is blocking the import
