Getting error while saving amended invoice - "GST Invoice Number cannot exceed 16 characters"

Whenever we try to save an amended sale invoice, an error pops up that says "Invalid GST Invoice Number - GST Invoice Number cannot exceed 16 characters”. But the Sale Invoice Number Series including the ID is only 15 characters long. And this issue occurs only when we try to save a amended invoice. While creating a fresh sale invoice everything works fine.

GST Invoice Number cannot exceed 16 characters

It’s not the series, but the ID itself that would be generated is exceeding 16 characters. Refer the following: https://docs.erpnext.com/docs/v14/user/manual/en/accounts/articles/naming-series-as-per-gst-rules

Please check its documentation as per new GST rule.
