Hi, brand new user here, just signed up for the 14 day trial of ERPnext but can’t find the CRM module. If I search for it in the search I can access it, but it soon disappears from the left hand panel when you end up somewhere else. I just want to find a way to create leads, opportunities etc. but then use the selling module to build quotes, invoices etc. It’s a bit confusing to the new user.
Now I read that the CRM module used to be separate but seems to be integrated now, but I can’t find it on the desktop - I need to make this easy to use for my team so is there a way to add a short cut?
Thanks,
Paul
I think you are accessing the old (ERPNext) CRM module which has been discontinued.
Its now no longer part of ERPNext but has been spun off as a seperate app called Frappe CRM
On the samescreen shot try the third option “Install (Frappe) CRM from Marketplace”
If that does not work try this - Installing an app
Hi, thanks for the reply. I thought it was Frappe CRM that was being discontinued and the CRM was being integrated into ERPNext? Anyhow, I tried the option to install from marketplace but this is looking like a separate install - and now it’s asking for a “valid payment mode” - as I’m just trialling this I’m not paying for anything yet. Anyhow, I somehow ended up on the frappe cloud dashboard and found my “site”, then was able to install the CRM module from there. So now I have a pink Frappe CRM icon appearing on my desktop, but I have no idea if this is the built in ERPNext CRM or the separate CRM. I guess I will have to have a play and see what happens.
For a new user this experience so far is very confusing.
Ok this does look like the separate CRM product, yesterday when I was playing with the ERPnext CRM by searching for CRM and accessing the CRM Dashboard, I was able to create a lead, but that lead no longer shows in the Frappe CRM module I’ve just installed, I guess it’s a sepatae database…. (I had to pixelate the info as it’s a real customer)…
I would prefer to use the CRM that comes with ERPnext rather than having a separate product/database, but it needs to be easily accessible, so until I have figured that out I can’t really recommend this to my team. I’m sure it’s something dead simple to set up.
Hi @paulroberts
Last I knew, there were still 2 separate CRMs:
- The original one native to ERPNext.
- The new “Frappe CRM”, a separate and standalone application.
They’ve never shared data or integrated.
I have a Version 16 self-hosted, and I only see the original CRM. Not the new “Frappe CRM". I suspect you’re getting a different user experience because you’re testing the official cloud.
I agree it’s very confusing. With luck, perhaps one of the official maintainers will chime in, and offer some clarity.
