Introducing India Payroll for Frappe HR

Frappe HR team is excited to launch India Payroll, an extension for Frappe HR built to simplify payroll and tax workflows according to Indian rules and regulations. :partying_face:

As many of you may know, payroll in India comes with a unique set of compliance requirements. The first version of India Payroll is designed to help bring these workflows into Frappe HR more directly.

Version 1 (which we are calling v16 for obvious reasons) includes support for:

  • Professional Tax (PT)
  • Labour Welfare Fund (LWF)
  • Employee Provident Fund (EPF)
  • Employee State Insurance (ESI)
  • Tax regime comparison and selection
  • Employee declarations
  • Relevant reports and registers

India payroll is not any payroll… and we hope this app makes it easier for teams managing payroll in India. :victory_hand:

Thank you so much. Payroll in india is indeed complex. But would love if you could help create a video, showing an indian scenario and setup everything.

This is great.

Am a little confused

In HRMS the dependency is ERPNext (hrms/pyproject.toml at 8d7313223860b8679fe6c353b5646de6e58da5d7 · frappe/hrms · GitHub) but in India Payroll I dont see any dependencies (in fact the Frappe 16 dependency is commented out (india-payroll/pyproject.toml at 26d753f057db96dcbf1023a5525380daaaafe4c3 · frappe/india-payroll · GitHub)

I assumed India Payroll would be need HRMS to be installed first (which needs ERPNext)

Could you please clarify
