Hi Frappe Community,
How can i add tax to an individual item and calculate the total amount including tax during sales order creation, sales invoice creation.
That is the sales Taxes but i need tax to be applied for every individual item For Example
In my items list i have t-shirts and leather belts, in that the GST for t-shirts is 5 % while the GST for leather belts are 18% for this kind of scenario i cannot use sales taxes templates so i need to configure tax for individual items.
Hi @Abai,
Please check the documentation.
And again check the video, I mentioned the two items with different taxes.
Thank You!
Hello @Abai,
To address your query, you can definitely apply different GST rates to individual items like t-shirts and leather belts in ERPNext. The solution is to use the Item Tax Template feature, which allows you to define specific tax rates for individual items rather than using a general sales tax template.
Here’s how you can do it:
- Go to your Item master for each product.
- Under the “Tax” section, assign an Item Tax Template for each item. For example, you can set a 5% GST tax for t-shirts and 18% GST tax for leather belts.
- When you create a Sales Order or Sales Invoice, ERPNext will automatically apply the correct tax rate for each item.
By configuring the tax at the item level, you can easily manage products with different GST rates. This is particularly useful for businesses that deal with a variety of goods taxed at different rates.
Additionally, if you are not already GST registered, it’s important to get your GST Registration to ensure compliance with India’s tax regulations. With the right registration, you can charge the appropriate GST rates to your customers and also claim input tax credits for the tax paid on your purchases.
For more detailed instructions, you can refer to the Item Tax Template Documentation as mentioned by @NCP, or check out the tutorial videos to see how it’s done step by step.
Hope this helps, and feel free to reach out if you need further assistance!
Thank you!
