Japanese Localization Initiative for Frappe / ERPNext

Hello Frappe community,

I recently opened a GitHub issue requesting Japanese (ja) language support in the Crowdin translation project:

## Request I would like to initiate and lead the Japanese (ja) localization eff…ort for Frappe. ## Background * Japanese is currently not available as a target language in the Crowdin project. * I represent Lifegence Corporation, and we are actively working on Japanese localization for Frappe-based systems. * We have already started preparing translation assets, including: * A structured glossary for ERP/business terminology * Translation guidelines and QA rules * Initial translation datasets for core UI components * We are also planning to extend this effort to ERPNext and related Frappe applications. ## Proposal * Please add "Japanese (ja)" as a target language in the Crowdin project. * I will take responsibility as a primary maintainer/reviewer for Japanese translations. * We are prepared to manage: * Translation consistency (terminology governance) * Review and QA process * Ongoing updates aligned with upstream changes ## Additional * We can provide an initial batch of Japanese translations to accelerate onboarding. * We are committed to long-term maintenance of the Japanese locale. * We will follow Frappe’s translation workflow, contribution guidelines, and QA standards. If needed, I am happy to discuss the approach and coordination in more detail. Thank you for your consideration.

To support this effort, I have already started building and publishing Japanese localization resources here:

The project currently includes:

.po translation files
Translation utilities
Japanese terminology alignment work
Localization workflow experiments for Frappe environments

My intention is to contribute long-term Japanese localization support not only for Frappe Framework, but also ERPNext and related apps.

If anyone from the community is interested in Japanese localization or has advice regarding the existing translation workflow, I would appreciate your feedback.
