Lead to Customer Mapping (Many to One)?

We have exactly the same scenario. Any idea on how to solve this use case?

I think this is linked with another post, we thought that is possible to add a Lead to a current customer:

Hi, we observed that from a lead we can create a customer or an opportunity. Would be nice to have an action for adding a lead to a current customer as new contact. Sometimes when importing from the email, new contact persons of current customers appear.
