Looking for ERPNext functional consultant — Pharma Manufacturing/QC/Inventory setup (part-time, scop

Hi All — I’m a full-stack developer (Python/JS comfortable) implementing ERPNext for a GMP-certified Ayurveda/pharma manufacturer in Pune, India (~15 users, single plant).

I’m handling all custom development myself (custom DocTypes for BMR/BPR with multi-role sign-off, server-side validation for separation of duties, print formats, etc.). What I need is a functional consultant to help with:

  • Standard Manufacturing module setup (BOM, Work Order, Routing) for solid orals, liquids, and semi-solids
  • Inventory configuration (multi-store: RM/PM/FG, batch tracking, FEFO, quarantine workflow)
  • Quality Inspection module setup and sanity-check against Schedule M (Revised) / WHO-GMP requirements
  • 2-3 training sessions for our QA/production team post-setup

Out of scope: Accounting/Finance (staying on Tally Prime Gold), HR, Sales/CRM — not needed right now.

Estimated scope: 30-40 hours. Open to fixed-price or hourly. Prior pharma/process-manufacturing ERPNext experience preferred but not mandatory — generic manufacturing + willingness to learn Schedule M basics works too.

Please share: relevant experience, approximate rate, and availability. Happy to hop on a call to discuss further.

Hi @hemantsoni,

I’m Patrick, an ERPNext implementer and developer in Accra, Ghana. I’ve done 30+ ERPNext implementations over 7 years (hospitality, construction, education and more), and client training is a big part of my job, so the setup and training side of your scope is familiar ground.

Relevant to your list:

Inventory: i have good knowledge about inventory and work experience using sales orders, sales invoices and checking the ledges. setting batches and expiry dates to mention a few.

Workflows with separate roles: multi-level approval workflows where the person who creates a document can’t approve it. That’s useful.

Manufacturing: not so much experience here but i have enough knowledge and i can dig in more and willing to learn as we go.

Availability: 10 hours a week, mostly weekends and Ghana evenings (GMT+0, 5½ hours behind Pune). Training sessions can be done remotely over a video call.

Happy to jump on a call to go through your process flows.

Hi Hemant,

I’d be glad to help with this. I’m an ERPNext implementation manager based in Pune, so I can work on-site at your facility when needed, alongside remote sessions.

Relevant experience:

  • 13 ERPNext implementations, including a 150-user manufacturing rollout (multi-level BOMs, work orders, job cards, quality inspection, 8 warehouses) that I re-implemented after a failed first attempt
  • Inventory accuracy work: batch-wise stock, warehouse restructuring, stock reconciliation, and fixing BOM and valuation costing
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, which helps when mapping QC and production processes before configuring them

How I’d approach your scope:

  1. Manufacturing: separate BOM and routing structures for solid orals, liquids and semi-solids, with work orders, job cards and process loss handled per dosage form
  2. Inventory: batch tracking with expiry, FEFO picking, and a quarantine → approved / rejected warehouse flow, so material can’t be used until QC releases it
  3. Quality: inspection templates at incoming material, in-process and finished goods, structured so the records support your Schedule M / WHO-GMP documentation
  4. Training: 2–3 role-based sessions for stores, production and QC

Your 30–40 hour estimate looks realistic for this scope, with you handling the development side.

Availability: 15–20 hours/week, starting immediately.

I’ve sent you a direct message with my rates. Happy to discuss over a call.

Hi Hemant,

Yes, we provide ERPNext functional consulting for manufacturing setups, including pharma/process manufacturing. Since you’re already taking care of the custom development, we can specifically support you on the functional side and work alongside your existing implementation.

We can help with manufacturing workflow setup, BOMs/process flows, batch and lot traceability, inventory and warehouse configuration, Quality Inspection/QC workflows, raw material to finished-goods movement, production planning, roles/approvals, and aligning ERPNext processes with GMP-oriented operations.

We can also review your current setup first and suggest what can be handled through standard ERPNext configuration versus where your existing custom BMR/BPR development should fit.

We’re Dexciss Technology, and ERPNext/Frappe implementation and customization is a core part of what we work on.

Happy to have a quick discussion about your current setup and the specific areas where you need functional support.

Regards,
Sanjana

Hi Hemant,

I’m interested in supporting this project as a functional manufacturing consultant.

I have 14+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, production, packaging, procurement, inventory, warehouse operations, vendor coordination and manufacturing documentation.

My relevant experience includes:

• Production and manufacturing process mapping
• RM / PM / FG inventory management
• Batch and expiry tracking
• BOM and packing/production requirements
• Production planning and material requirements
• Warehouse and stock movement processes
• QC coordination and approval workflows
• Procurement and vendor processes
• SOPs, process documentation and user workflows
• User roles, approvals and operational controls

I am also currently working on a manufacturing-oriented ERP/CRM system, where I am designing workflows around inventory, BOM, production, batch/expiry, QC, procurement, warehouse and role-based approvals. This gives me practical understanding of translating real manufacturing processes into ERP workflows.

I have not done 10+ ERPNext implementations, so I would position myself primarily on the functional/manufacturing side and work closely with your development team for the ERPNext configuration and customization.

For your estimated 30–40 hour scope, I would be comfortable starting at ₹700/hour, or we can discuss a fixed project fee after understanding the detailed process flows.

Availability: 10–15 hours/week, with flexibility for additional hours during critical implementation/training phases.

I would be happy to have a short call to understand your current manufacturing, inventory and QC workflows and discuss how I can contribute.

Regards,
Sandeep Kumar Saini
Manufacturing & ERP Operations Consultant

I would ensure that the consultant has a solid grasp of batch traceability, FEFO, and quarantine workflows in addition to the conventional production module for this type of setup. Configuring the BOMs and Work Orders is one step, but it’s equally crucial to ensure that quality checks and material status updates align with the real production process. I would also make it clear where your specific GMP requirements start and where the regular ERPNext workflow finishes, as you are managing the custom DocTypes yourself. This should prevent needless customising and make the implementation manageable.
