Hi Team,
I have a requirement where the customer buys Steel Plate in Kgs and cuts during manufacturing.
However the consumption is not a whole plate at a time and the remaining steel plate will be reused in another manufacturing item.
How do I manage inventory in such cases. Here are the following considerations-
Base UOM as Nos-

Problem using second UOM as Kgs for Purchase because the UOM conversion is not fixed.
For Eg-
Today I purchase 1 plate with weight 100Kgs
Tomorrow the same plate can be 102Kgs -
Managing fractional steel plate inventory is difficult to track
Base UOM as Kgs-
- It is difficult to understand the inventory.
The ideal case scenario would be to use a Dual UOMs without interchangeably converting to a Base Unit of Measure.
