I disabled SELinux by changing "SELINUX=enforced" to "SELINUX=disabled" in /etc/selinux/config. After that I rebooted the system and tried accessing localhost:8080 again on my host. The result however is unchanged: it still doesn't load.
From what I observe I think localhost:8080 is forwarded to the virtual guest, but it doesn't get a response somehow. When I search for ports which are on LISTEN, 127.0.0.1:8080 isn't listed. It lists 'tcp 0 : : :8080 : : :* LISTEN EN 1626/httpd' and 'tcp 0 : : :80 : : :* LISTEN EN 1626/httpd'. Can you confirm if this is correct?
Thanks,
Neil

Upon finishing the ERPNext installation, it prompts that the system is available on the host computer at localhost:8080. However, the page doesn't load (nor is it displaying any connection problems).
Any ideas or suggestions on where to start solving this problem?
Thanks in advance!

Thans for your prompt response. 'curl localhost:8080' comes back with 'curl: (7) couldn't connect to host'. Same response when iptables isn't running. Browser of host system returns a blank page when visiting localhost:8080.
Did I miss something during setup?
Thanks again,

I think I fixed that issue with the Virtualhost. When I run 'curl localhost:8080' it returns what seems to be an html formatted page, but it is still inaccessible from the host browser via localhost:8080.

I think I fixed that issue with the Virtualhost. When I run 'curl localhost:8080' it returns what seems to be an html formatted page, but it is still inaccessible from the host browser via localhost:8080.

Thans for your prompt response. 'curl localhost:8080' comes back with 'curl: (7) couldn't connect to host'. Same response when iptables isn't running. Browser of host system returns a blank page when visiting localhost:8080.
Did I miss something during setup?
Thanks again,

Hi Neil,
Open your virtual machine and run: curl localhost:8080.
If you get something, then you need to check your iptable configurations.
Thanks,

Any ideas or suggestions on where to start solving this problem?
Thanks in advance!

Create a port forwarding rule in VM settings (under Network -> Portforwarding) to forward TCP 127.0.0.1:8080 to 10.0.2.15:8080
Upon finishing the ERPNext installation, it prompts that the system is available on the host computer at localhost:8080. However, the page doesn't load (nor is it displaying any connection problems).
Any ideas or suggestions on where to start solving this problem?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks again.

Hi Neil,
Can you write a blog about this. It will help other users.
I think I fixed that issue with the Virtualhost. When I run 'curl localhost:8080' it returns what seems to be an html formatted page, but it is still inaccessible from the host browser via localhost:8080.

Hi Neil,
You should google this error. You will find instructions on how to fix this.
Thans for your prompt response. 'curl localhost:8080' comes back with 'curl: (7) couldn't connect to host'. Same response when iptables isn't running. Browser of host system returns a blank page when visiting localhost:8080.
Did I miss something during setup?
Thanks again,
Neil

Hi Neil,
Open your virtual machine and run: curl localhost:8080.
If you get something, then you need to check your iptable configurations.
Thanks,
Neil
