We are a team of 10 in mechanical heavy machining jobwork.
We purchase material, fabricate, machining and manufacture parts based on customer requirement.
We are currently using accounting software tally and MS office tools and documentations.
We came across erpnext and make us feel, erpnext will match our organisation requirement…
We are windows machine used people. We find development and production version of erpnext. Installing it is not like normal windows setup. We googled and it leads to much confusion.
Our requirement is only 3 people will handle the tool, accounts, material movement and proprietor.
Will ERP next will suite our organisation as only limited resource will use the tool and installation, upgrading all requires dedicated linux person.

If you go with Frappe Cloud you will get support, server/ip management and easy installation
If you want to self-host you can easily run ERPNext in windows through 2 softwares - WSL2 and Docker - so you dont really need linux
Once you install these two just use these commands from GitHub - frappe/erpnext: Free and Open Source Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
git clone GitHub - frappe/frappe_docker: Docker images for production and development setups of the Frappe framework and ERPNext
cd frappe_docker
docker compose -f pwd.yml up -d
