@mark_1700 do you do your customizations in a custom app, or just with configuration of the existing Payroll/HR module?
We use Gusto for payroll, but it’s only two employees at the moment. It seems like a good idea to “dogfood” payroll if we can get away with it.
Gusto is pretty inexpensive for all of the pain intentionally injected into the system by the service providers and rent seekers who lobby the congress to make it ILLEGAL for the feds to implement their own online service that competes with Inuit.
Intuit isn’t used for payroll taxes. Deposits for payroll taxes are made to the government directly. The “pain” really boils down to understanding the rules around deductions, but the IRS publishes all of that info annually.
To answer your questions, we have a couple of custom apps set up on a private bench and have done extensive customization to the existing modules. Both are necessary.
