Sorry this won't answer your question but I think this side-discussion is important: Years back, big company executives would send email that ended with "Sent from Blackberry". I don't see anything wrong with "Sent via ERPNExt".

I agree and this Sent via ERPNext is not as intrusive as well, since it occupies such a small space in the whole of email.
Btw I think opensource is all about give and take the team @erpnext is giving us all a great product and the price is also great compared to what all products are there in the market and hence I think the users should feel obliged to be their brand ambassadors.
Also I am not aware of the licensing issues with the removal of the same as well since I am not an expert but I think even the opensource licence talks about giving the due share of visibility to the developer so that other people don't claim it to be theirs.
I know I shouldn't ask this but I would still ask this question, Mr Negini are you using a hosted version or is the erpnext hosted on your own server.

You are right , when you send email form samsung mobile below email add "send from samsung mobile "
when you send by ipad add " Sent from my iPad "
when you send by iphone add " Sent from my IPhone"
and ….
but on all of that when you want to disable easily go to setting you can remove or disable it and no need to go source code .
I hope you understand , in my case already "Sent via ERPNEXT" removed , and i continue using erpnext and happy to work with this software but believe me , so many people want to use erpnext seriously ,when they see this thing even don't try it.

You forgot to mention the biggest fact, they all PURCHASED those equipments.
And this is open source, if you don't like something, go ahead n change it to suite urself, or pay someone who knows how to do it, if you don't know how to do it. And further still u don't like it, don't use it. But really do not come ranting on the public mailing list and give a generalised feedback for everyone around.

Meisam is a paid customer (Commercial Support - Thanks!) so its okay to express his displeasure - we have removed the line from his account. Maybe we will make it a configurable option soon. But currently we are totally dependant on word-of-mouth / viral type of marketing, since we have minuscule ad budget, so we would like it to stay for as long as possible. But its great to hear the support. Maybe it also shows to your Customers / Vendors that you are smart enough to use an Open Source product :)
best,
Rushabh
