How to push hot-fix into frappe.io hosting site?

Dear All,

I checked that GITHUB erpnext, all are working against developer branch, i see hotfix pull requests, however, for hosting services provided. How to manage those fixes in hosting server?

I don't think just bench update...

Anyone can indicate what is the flow of this?

Best Regards,
Yang

Thats pretty much it! we use the same bench (frappe/bench). If you have pull requests send them to the develop branch.

Anand is our release manager and usually manually checks large updates.

Hi Rushabh,

As far as i know developer branch may involves new features.

If user buy and use your hosting service, the bench update will also pull new features into hosted sites(which may lead end user confuse).

I'm curious how does this be integrated and strategy of this.

Thanks very much.

Best Regards.

Yang, since our biggest feedback is from our cloud users, where we solve around 40 tickets a day, we get a lot of reports from them. Hence the hot fixes.

These fixes are deployed once daily (usually)

If there is a major release (none planned at the moment), it is released to new users first (on cloud) and community. We hold back on migrations, until the new release is stable.

As of now we plan to do daily releases. We will start adding the number though - we had stopped that practice since version 4 was still not very stable, but now we can start adding.

Thanks very much.

Best Regards.
