Purchase Taxes on Non-Stock Item Valuation

How do I add taxes on Non-Stock item’s valuation NOT THE TOTAL

What is the best practice?

Hi @Luigi_Torres

In order to understand your problem I tried to replicate your issue but I could not.
Can you please tell me what steps you took.

Regards

Good day,

I made an item called “Repair Service” with “Maintain Stock” unchecked. This makes it a service item.

I made a Purchase Order with Purchase Taxes and Charges Template

This is my Purchase Taxes

This is the first part of the purchase tax

This is the second part of the purchase tax

However when I save the Purchase Order, it changes the first Purchase Tax’s “Consider Tax or Charge for” into “Total” as well

My interpretation of this is that the system doesn’t allow to change the valuation of a service item, plainly because it is a service item in itself.

If ever what is the best practice for cases like these?

Okay I understand now … thanks for reproducing it
I guess it makes logical sense that valuation can only come from the stock ledger (FIFO/AVG/LIFO) which are not maintained for services
I went into the core code and saw that it checks “Is Fixed Asset” also. I ticked it and it allowed valuation to go through
If you have services & inventory and you are not using the Assets module maybe this can help as a workaround
Not sure if it is best practise though …. we will wait for someone else to chip in

Edit - not a good idea - it was debiting fixed assets accounts

Okay sir, thank you.

I was able to find find another way by changing the tax rate. But this is good to know, much appreciated
