Site plan vs Server plan for a 9-app v16 site with one custom app which is better value?

We are moving an existing self-hosted Frappe v16 site onto Frappe Cloud and would like a sanity check on plan choice before committing.

Setup

  • One site, nine apps: frappe, erpnext, hrms, crm, payments, lms, helpdesk, telephony, plus one custom app of our own (private GitHub repo)
  • About 110 users, mostly LMS, Helpdesk and HR
  • Small footprint 205 MB total site size, database under 200 MB
  • ERPNext and telephony are installed but unused

What I have worked out so far

The custom app means we need a private bench, which puts the floor at the $25 Site plan. But we lean on bench execute for our own maintenance and reporting scripts, and SSH only appears at $50 on AWS. That puts a single Site plan within a few dollars of a $40 Server plan.

Questions

  1. On a Server plan, are sites hosted on it included in the price, or billed separately on top? This is the deciding factor for us.
  2. Is $50 genuinely the lowest AWS Site plan with shell access, or is there another way to run bench commands on a $25 private-bench site?
  3. Has anyone run Server Scripts as a substitute for bench execute? Ours read files from the app directory, so I suspect not, but I would rather hear from someone who has tried.
  4. Our users are in West Africa. Which region do people find works best from there?

Grateful for any experience from teams running a similar mix.

  1. If you are referring to the dedicated server plans, all sites hosted on it will be free; you will only be charged for the dedicated server.

  2. Under AWS, you can host the site on a $25/month plan, which provides access to a private bench group and allows SSH access.

  3. What kind of maintenance do you do with bench execute? You can SSH and run that way.

  4. Under AWS, you can opt for Cape Town (South Africa) or under OCI, Johannesburg ( South Africa).
