Staging table in ERPNext

Hi, is there a staging table in erpnext in the data import process? example:
I try import data from excel/csv into erpnext, the data from excel directly to master table or going through staging table?
if through a staging table, what is the name of the table?

A better option would be to create a new bench with a staging site.

You would back up your production site and restore it to your staging site, then do all your dangerous stuff there.
