Tax category issue

Issue:
In version 16, When we select a Tax Category, the corresponding Purchase Tax Template / Sales Tax Template should automatically populate in the next field. Based on this selection, the tax table should then be populated or overridden with the relevant tax information.

But, this is currently not working as expected.
Any suggestions to solve this?

Not sure but according to the docs diagram you may need to set a matching tax rule first
