assign task to employees, reusable tasks, order of tasks

Hi,
I am new to erpnext. I am trying to assign tasks to an employee and not a system user. A dedicated person will follow up with the employee and update employee tasks in the system. Is it possible to assign the tasks to an employee?

secondly, I want to reuse the tasks in different projects instead of the user typing the subject of the task each time.

third, can there be a specific order of the tasks in a project? I want the tasks to appear in a certain order for each project.

Please explore this.

Also, you can check this.

Thanks NCP,

I checked it and both resources talk about assigning to ‘User’ and NOT ‘Employee’. What I need to know whether a task can be assigned to ‘Employee’ or not. An employee may not be a user in the system.

Secondly, can we define certain tasks once and reuse them again and again? and Also whether there could an order of tasks

I have a doubt about how employees can log in to the system if they are not users. As far as I know, employees need a user ID to log in to the system.

Yes. I am aware that an employee need to be a user to log into the system. But what I don’t understand is that there is no way to link the two. Both users and employees exist independent of each other.

Secondly, we can assign Task to a User, but while filling in the Timesheets, we have to select Employee. Now how do we match the both?

third, all employees may not be a user of the system. We are a manufacturing company where most of the operators and labour do not have access to the system but we still want to track their work and time through a dedicated person who is a User in the system.

You can add a custom field for User ID and automatically fetch it from the Employee Doctype so that you can easily match reports or apply filters…

ok. Thanks
