Autogenerated batch number based on date

Is there any way for the auto-generated batch number to be based on date of production or purchase? The current way seems to be only using a serialized numbering approach.

You can add the day, month, and year to a Lot number on creation.

In the item to manufacture/sell , under Inventory, find the Batch Number Series field.

There you can use YY or YYYY, with a dot either side, for the year, MM for month, and DD for day.
i.e. LOT.YY.MM.DD.-.#### would give the batch number LOT230130-0001, the next batch on the same day would be LOT230130-0002 etc.

  2. Select DocType
  3. On first line do what @pmjd said
  4. Click update
