Automatic asset creation during purchase fails

I would like assets to be created automatically with a preset depreciation schedule once a purchase invoice is booked.

For the Item I have chosen “Is Fixed Asset” and “Auto Create Assets on Purchase” and picked an asset category with a depreciation schedule.

When I book a purchase invoice with the item, I would expect for the item to be created as an asset and depreciated according to the schedule automatically. This does not occur. Instead, I have to create the asset, set that depreciation is to be calculated, and after booking manually trigger depreciation to be applied. I’m pretty sure I am missing something here and not using it correctly.

Aditionally you have make a purchase receipt and choose the asset location in that document
Then it creates it automatically (draft form)
