Backlinking of One to Many Doctype in a way is it seen in connections (for existing Doctypes)

Saw lot of topics here but no clear answer. (NOT with the custom script, version 15, but with customizing form and linking fields)
Could you confirm that this is NOT possible without scripting to get additional links on Connection section like

So currently,

  1. Project should have 1 item. this is was added by Customizing form and added linked field → Item DocType
  2. Reverse many to 1 (To see the Projects (multiple) in 1 Item) doesnt seem to be automatic or possible by working with customizing form.

Please confirm that this is NOT possible without scripting

Hi

The connection tab is only bringing forward links where source doctype name is embedded in target doctype. This works in forward settings only but not for backward connections.

In your particular case, Project doctype should have item link record on header and vice versa and then connection can be configured by working with customizing Document Link section.

Thanks I am not sure that answers my question esp for Backlinking DocTypes that Are NOT linked by default. The forward linking works by adding custom Link Field but not backlink which is not automatic. This was discussed a lot of times that this is missing i n Frappe by default , but The question was exactly HOW to enable it without scripting, and ASK TO confirm that it is NOT possible without scripting
