Barcode Scanner Implementation

Hi to everyone!

I would like to know if someone have used a barcode scanner with ERPNext? I mean like scanning a product barcode and that will make ERPNext look for an item on inventory, assign it to a new item on the inventory or functioning on the POS.

Thanks in advance.

Regards!

Hi Abdel.

Essentially a barcode scanner is same as a keyboard. So pointing a cursor in the right field and scanning the barcode should work. But there is an additional barcode field that you can use to assign a barcode number to an item.

to enable Barcode field in ERPNext:

Go to Setup / Customize / Show Hide Features, check Barcode and Save!

You will then find a barcode field in Item Table of Invoice.

And Point of Sale: https://erpnext.com/user-guide/accounts/point-of-sale-pos-invoice

Thanks,
Anand.
