How to edit base salary for an individual employee in salary structure assignment?

You can either create a new salary structure assignment with the changed base salary or cancel and amend the salary structure assignment doctype and then edit the base.

Basically, you create salary components first, then create a salary structure and to assign this salary structure to employees, you can do so via Salary Structure Assignment doctype where you can also specify the base and variable of the employee.
