Bench update error and instance down

I get this error whenever I run bench update. How can I fix it?

I see you have a custom app usaid_application, may be a syntax error into this application ?

I don’t think so. This happens to every bench instance I try to update. Then all the sites in the instance the error occured return “Internal Server Error(500)”
