Best Practice for Modelling Same Finished Item with Different Packaging Requirements

Hi All,

In our Manufacturing Unit, we have same Finished Good Item with different packing/ requirements(white labelling) for different customers. How do we model the item and BOM in this scenario?

Our current contemplation is that should we create a separate item for each customer
for same finished goods to accommodate the difference in packaging BOM. The drawback is that it will increase the number of item codes as the customer increases.

What is the best practice to model the item, BOM(including the packaging) in this scenario?

You can use product bundle for packaging

You can use item variants

just create your item with the unit and make it has a variant
add all your item attribute and create your variants
you can add more uom with the conversion but default uom will be the same
