Bom,Production order

We are buying bulk articles and than repack them in smaller bags.

Once mastered the art, processing this with a Bom and Production order
is quite simple, be it some kind of overkill.

An extra stock entry type “repack” could be a future feature for just
repacking.

Any way, I use the complex approach for the time being:

However, I have no clue how the $$$ are dealt with.

There are 3 type of valuations: standard, valuation, ;last purchase
rate but changing them does not seem to have an effect.

One would expect that the calculated Item price becomes the standard
rate or last purchase rate in item masters. Dont believe that’s the
case.

I have not yet studied the financial capabilities of ERPNerxt , but I
guess there must be profit analysing functionality somewhere in the
system.
So how does ERNext deal with "manufactures & sold " items.

In other words “how does the money flow thru the system?”

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your valuable suggestion.

For repacking, basically we require a feature in stock entry that we can do issue (raw material) and receipt (finished goods) in the same form and item will be pulled from a BOM.

The feature request is already in our list and we are going to implement that within 1/2 weeks time.

And regarding valuation rate issue in BOM, currenly it has some issue. It is working fine with Valuation Rate and Last Purchase Rate but not working if you select standard rate. We will fix it as soon as possible. And to get last purchase rate of item, please select "Consider Raw Material Cost As Per" drop-down first, before entering item.

Item rate should be changed if we change dropdown after entering all the item. We will fix that also.

Sorry for the delayed reply.

Hi Robert,

Rate issue has been fixed. Please check.

Now if you change "Consider Raw Material Cost As Per" after entering all items, please click on "Update cost as on today" button to update item rate.

Hi Robert,

For repacking item, now you do not need to make a production order.

You can directly issue raw material and receipt finished good item in a single stock entry where items can be fetched from a BOM or entered manually.

To use the feature please select "Purpose" field as "Others" in stock entry.
