BuildX + ProcureX — Open-Source ERP Stack for Construction & EPC | Presenting at Frappeverse Mumbai

Hey Frappe community :waving_hand:

We’re Quantbit Technologies, a Frappe Partner based in Mumbai, and we’re presenting at Frappeverse Mumbai 2026 (August 21–22, Nehru Centre Auditorium, Mumbai).

We’ll be showcasing our construction ERP stack — BuildX for field and operations, and ProcureX for management intelligence — both built natively on Frappe/ERPNext.

The problem we’re solving

Construction companies are one of the last industries still running critical operations on spreadsheets and disconnected tools — BOQ tracking in Excel, subcontractor billing over WhatsApp, project P&L reconstructed manually at month-end, tenders managed in email threads.

Standard ERPNext gets you 60–70% of the way there. Our stack closes the remaining gap with construction-specific workflows built for how sites actually operate.

Layer 1 — BuildX (Field & Operations)

Everything that happens at the project and site level:

Project & Contract Management

  • BOQ management — item-wise, stage-wise tracking linked to procurement and actual costs

  • Contract & milestone management — linked to billing triggers and cash flow planning

  • Project-wise P&L — real-time profitability per project, not just company-level

Tender Management

  • End-to-end tender lifecycle — from tender identification and document management to estimation, submission, and award tracking

  • Tender costing linked directly to BOQ and procurement planning once awarded

  • Comparison sheets, bid analysis, and competitor rate tracking built in

Subcontractor & Site Operations

  • Subcontractor billing — RA bills, measurement sheets, retention tracking, work order management

  • Site material management — receipts, consumption, wastage tracking at site level

  • India compliance — GST on works contracts, TDS on subcontractor payments, e-invoicing

Mobile App — built for site engineers, not desk users

Site engineers don’t sit at desks. The BuildX mobile app puts data entry where the work happens:

  • Daily progress reports and site attendance from the field

  • Material receipt and consumption entries at site — no back-office dependency

  • Work completion updates linked directly to billing milestones

  • Works offline, syncs when connected — because site connectivity is never guaranteed

The principle: the person closest to the work records it in real time, not at month-end.

Layer 2 — ProcureX (Management Intelligence)

While BuildX handles operations, ProcureX gives leadership the intelligence layer on top.

Project 360
One screen covering project health, budget vs. actuals, timeline status, and cash flow across all running projects simultaneously.

Budget Pro
Enhanced project budgeting and costing module — budget creation at BOQ level, variance tracking against actuals, cost-to-complete projections, and approval workflows for budget revisions. Built for companies running multiple projects where budget discipline is the difference between margin and loss.

Supplier & Procurement Management
Vendor performance tracking, payment status, open POs, rate history, and compliance — supplier concentration risk visible at a glance.

Finance Dashboard
Receivables, payables, retention amounts, and billing pipeline in one view. No more end-of-month surprises.

Cash Flow Forecasting
Construction cash flow is notoriously hard to predict — milestone billing, retention releases, and subcontractor payment cycles create gaps that catch companies off guard. ProcureX models upcoming inflows and outflows based on actual contract milestones, pending RA bills, subcontractor due dates, and historical payment patterns. Treasury gaps show up weeks in advance, not on the day payroll is due.

ML-based Inventory & Material Forecasting
Material planning in construction typically happens reactively. ProcureX uses ML models trained on your historical consumption data, project stage progression, and procurement lead times to forecast material requirements before the shortage happens.

Technically: Python-based, runs natively within the Frappe ecosystem, no external ML platform dependency. Gets sharper as your transaction history grows.

What’s coming — Procurement AI (Beta)

We’re opening early access soon for Procurement AI — an intelligence layer on top of ProcureX’s procurement module that will surface:

  • Anomaly detection on purchase rates vs. market benchmarks

  • Vendor recommendation based on performance history and project requirements

  • Automated PR-to-PO optimisation based on lead times and site consumption forecasts

  • Natural language procurement queries — ask what you need, get the data

If you’re interested in beta access or want to discuss the approach, come find us at Frappeverse or reply here.

Who it’s for

We’ve built and deployed this stack for:

  • Mid-size construction and civil contracting companies (₹20 Cr – ₹500 Cr revenue)

  • EPC firms handling multiple concurrent projects across sites

  • Real estate developers managing construction in-house

  • Infrastructure companies dealing with government contracts and retention billing

Come find us at Frappeverse

We’ll be there both days. If you want to:

  • See a live walkthrough of BuildX + ProcureX

  • Discuss construction-specific Frappe customisations

  • Explore the Procurement AI beta

  • Talk implementation partnerships
