“Incorrect Number of GL Entries Found.” I was asked to removed this validation
what would be the effects if i do this.
What is the use case of removing this validation?
Well ill try to explain .
there are 2 departments using the Journal Entry
the Payroll Dept and Accounting Dept
the Payroll Dept enters their accounting entries breakdowned per employee they have to create another entry for the Accounting Dept without the breakdown.
You can’t remove this validation. This validation comes when the system tries to post less than two GL Entries for any transactions. But there should not be any case, where there will be less than 2 gl entries. There should atleast 2 entries, one will be debited and other will be credited.

There are 2 Entries but the account is the same
Ok, if same account comes while posting gl entries, system merges them in one, if cost center, project, against account etc are same for both.
But I can’t imagine a use case where you are doing a transaction, only for debiting and crediting the same account.

I cant really understand why they want me to remove that validation
but if it works for the users and there is no problem when posting it i think im good with that
