Can there be a "Item Code Update Utility"

Hi

Instead of fully implementing erpnext at one go, I have decided to keep adding new items as and when required and discovering features on the go.
However, while doing this, I often feel the need to update item codes to suit my requirements but since this is not possible, I have to delete all
the related records, then delete the item itself and update the code.

This is quite cumbersome and I often find myself not doing it at all due to lack of time and instead using a workaround.

If there could be a utility to update the item code like UOM update utility it could be quite helpful.

Thanks

Hi Satish,

You can rename the Item. In the new UI, this option can be found in the File menu.

Thanks,
Anand.

There’s also a bulk rename tool in Setup. Item codes can be renamed there, as well as some other types of masters.
