Cannot delete Item because it is linked in Bin BIN/000xxxx

Hello,

I am trying to delete all the items. I get this message.
I checked the stock levels and they were not zero so i used stock
reconciliation to set the stock levels to zero for all items.
I still cant delete the items. Get the same error message.
I have rechecked the stock levels and they are zero now.

Please suggest as to how can i delete all the items in one go.

Hi Ankit,


You cannot delete an Item if you have any transaction against that item, like Sales Order, Delivery Note or even stock entry. The maximum you can do is make those items not appear in sales invoices by simply making the field “Sale Item” as NO.

And if you want, you can create a custom field like “IS deleted”.

Hi Aditya,

I want to upload all the items again. I tried uploading them again,
since I cant delete them, checked the option to overwrite as well, but
it didn’t go through complaining that the item code exists. So I want
to delete all the items and reload them correctly this time.

The system is not being used so there are no sales orders associated.
The stock value is zero for all these items.

Is there a way to overwrite these items?

Hi Ankit,

Since you are using it on your local system, you can delete them via your database. I think this issue has been fixed in the latest version.
