Cant start ERP Next

I saw the instructions listed on https://erpnext.com/download.

Downloaded the image and imported the appliance.
After booting the guest machine it asks me to login and I could login to the machine.
And then it says logon to localhost:8000 to start the application but when I say curl localhost:8080 it says Failed to connect

Please help I just want to host the application and run the application

did you try username frappe, password frappe for the login?

Also did you try curl against port 8080 or 8000? Just double check since you mentioned both in your post.

You may want to try connecting with a browser to localhost:8080, but I doubt that will work if curl didn’t.
