Change not delivered item in sales order after delivery note

Any way to avoid system validation on cancel and amend for sales order has a delivery note and that is for items not delivered yet

the case if i have for example purchase order contain 2 items and i receipt one of them by receipt note and make an invoice for the same item then i want to change the second item for any reason the system will prevent me to cancel the document to able to change the item
