I’m excited to have published my first Frappe Marketplace app: :church:Churchit

What is it?

Churchit is an entirely open-source 100% free church management app that goes far beyond what other apps like non-profit could offer for a church. Churchit is a comprehensive church management suite for managing people, families, groups, events, donations, funds, assets, tasks, sermons, missionaries, and LOTS more. It provides a public website, a member portal and a manager back-end (desk).

One thing I want to be really clear about, since it’s so easy to be skeptical of “free” software these days: Churchit is, and will always be, 100% open source and 100% free. There will be no paid tiers, no premium modules, no paywalls, no upsells, etc - not now, and not later. The whole reason this project exists is because of a personal conviction (“freely you have received, even so, freely give”).

:loudspeaker: Churchit still needs more developers and testing. It is probably a bit early for true production use. If you test or decide to use it, please, please please provide feedback via Discord or Matrix or github.

Note: The app was originally pre-AI but in real Frappe fashion, AI has since been used in the development of this app (but not in the creation of this post!)

Congrats on getting the first Marketplace release out! The scope of Churchit is impressive, especially having people, events, donations, and the member portal in one Frappe app. I’d be interested to see how the project develops as more people test it.

congratulation for publishing your app.
It is interesting app for it’s niche use case. however if I want to manage a cult, personally I will need an ERP (that is ERPNext) and use an app for supplementing offering and other donations.

This is a complete solution and using it alongside with erpnext feels redundant and confusing.

But hey, it is an app for a niche market. as long as your market satisfied, congratulations!

That’s correct. This app is not intended for cult use. It is indeed a niche app that is focused for church use and handles church collections and donations on its own.
