Connection Stalled When Creating Salary Slip via Payroll Entry

I am facing an issue with creating Salary Slips on Payroll Entry. Every other process runs smoothly but when i click generate salary slip, the process stalls (see screenshot below)

Any idea what could be wrong?

You may want to check if your bench scheduler is enabled
