Convert Batch to New Batch Number with Different Format?

Hello,

Using the develop branch.

Is there a way to re-assign an existing Batch No to a new Batch No, of a slightly different format, easily?

I know that the Split Batch button in the Batch DocType give the option to change the Batch No there but it give free reign to choose any style of batch no.

Is there a way to change Batch No to a set style, it LOT000123 to DEV000321?

I had a look at the Rework option in Stock Entry but can’t see a way to change the Batch to a new Batch No.

Thanks,
Paul

Hi,

You can rename the Batch No.

Thanks, as I said I in the original post I know that the option is possible.

What I am looking to see if there is a way to automate this change so that user options are restricted to a set format.

To explain, at the moment we have items which are used in production. When expired they can be used for training or development. What I’m looking to do is be able to reassign a production batch no to a new different batch no for this purpose.

The only other option I can think of is to make a duplicate “training” item, and use a work order to convert one to the other. Do you think that would work?

Hi,

In Stock Entry → Repack, I am able to assign the new batch number:

Thanks, I thought it was all on one line, didn’t realise you needed two lines.

I’m using the develop branch and it’s not quite behaving as expected, will have a play and see

Hi

Yes you can edit or rename the batches. For example FD33749 rename it to FD33750, the only problem of this is when you search the new batch you rename? it will not show to the list because i tried it before.
