Good day, I’m not too familiar with ERPnext; is there a method that will notify or generate a message alert when a Batch item is ready or near to expire?
yes, we have a notification doctype in Frappe. We can configure it based on the conditions expected

For notification give a try on Batch Doctype - Batch Item and Expiry Date Field with the current date
The report also available by default: Batch Item Expiry Status

Additional question, what will happen if the expired products will be delivered
this is the scenario
- create a stock with expiry
- Waiting for expiry date
- Upon expiry try it on sales order and delivery note
- The expired item was dispatched.
How to restrict expired item not to be included in delivery
By default, the expired item will not show up anywhere.
Can u share a screenshot to analyze more?
Validate is already set, when you save the Delivery Note or Stock Entry. so system not allow to save or submit the expired stock.
