Create variants for an item with many variants in bulk. Right now it seems like I have to create one variant at a time. But ideally I would like to create a main item, set the variant types, and then the variant options for each type, and have them all created when I create the master item. Possible?

Not at the moment. We had introduced that feature earlier but discarded it.
Thank for the fast response! IS there a way to import item/variants by CSV or API? Perhaps we can do this in another application and import.
Yes, you can use the item import csv for variants, just make one in the system and use as a template.
