I just added two custom fields in my employee form i write the data and save the form, few minutes later i go to edit the employee and the data in those custom fields disappear, anyone can help me with this?
I have seen similar behaviour as well. I think sometimes it just takes a while …
are you on a subscription cloud server or manage your own erpnext installation.
what I’d try is
- log out and logg back in
- restart with
bench restart(fro withing /home/frappe/frappe-bench if you are on your own server)
I manage a bintami stack installation, i tried both advices and it still have the same error but thanks anyway.
can you check whether the two fields you want to add are marked as “Hidden” by any chance?
Another thought … they are located somewhere on the very bottom of the document or maybe even inside of an area which is folded by default and therefore you just don’t see them?
Can you specify which document contains your fields and which number in the ‘Fields’ section of the form (>Setup >Customize Forms >[your-form]) you want to customize they have?
Hi… i checked and both fields aren’t marked as “hidden”, adittional the fields are located at the personal details section between place of issue and a column break, the fields above mine i marked as “hidden”.
The document that contains my fields is “Employee” and there are 8 default fields on the form with the 2 that i added there are 10 fields on the form.
no idea what the problem might be then. It might help whether you post a screen shot of those 2 fields here. maybe someone can draw something from such
Thanks for your help but i have found the solution, i added and located them from custom fields to the form that solved the problem.
you mean you created a custom field but that was not placed on any form actually?
I wasn’t aware such was even possible.
Kind of that… i’m not sure of what happened but it’s solved now thanks for
