I am looking into a way to localize Documents names. My initial thought is to add a Child Table to all documents that carries possible translations of that document name. What do you think?

Document names are translated too as a part of the standard translation implementation.
Also translations should be out of the database so that they can be in the version control.

I don't think that everything should be in the csv files.
for example, I would like when printing a sales invoice in Arabic to see the item names in Arabic. and the same goes to English. Do you think that it is a good idea to edit the csv file and add every item to it?
and the same applies to territories, customer names, etc..

Yeah it makes sense for item names. There could be a table in item that has translations for each language.

I think there should be a doctype called Translation with fields: source language, target language, source string, target string, reference doctype, reference.
