Dashboard chart custom permission

I understand that for a Chart based on a DocType, the role must have a Read permission on that DocType so that the Dashboard Chart will be visible in the Dashboard. For Dashboard Charts with Custom Chart Type, how do you set the permission per role?

In Users → Role

  1. Select Role you want to give permissions to
  2. Select (Top Button) Role Permissions Manager
  3. Select (Top Button) Add A New Rule
  4. Select the DocType
  5. Click Add
  6. Give the Role the appropriate permissions on the DocType
  7. Save

Is this applicable to Custom Chart Type?

Permissions only apply to DocTypes, as far as I understand. But there’s no reason for this not to work with a Custom Chart type. Maybe someone else has more info, or you could test it to see if it works.
