What happens if the “Balance must be” field in an account is not selected? Loss/gains accounts should be able to be both Debit or Credit at some point, but when I tried to create an opening balance in journal entry which was negative due to the period of the month, the system did not allowed me to do so, therefore I wonder if I don’t select Debit nor Credit, how does the system behaves. Thank you.
Balance must be field would enforce a field to have Debit or Credit amount. So in case you have an account that can have both, you must not enter anything in that “balance must be” field.
