Default customer fields

When a new customer is created the default fields under the following sections are all set to ‘Yes’. Can I change the default settings to ‘No’ for new customers only? I don’t want it for ‘existing customers’.

In the Custom Field master for these field, set “No” in the Default Value.

I did following

Setup > masters > customer > clicked on customise icon > and tried to change the Yes, No order.

It didn’t do anything

Can you please write step by step process? Where to find custom field master, to start with?

In the row of Custom Field, mention No in the Default Value field.

Seems there was problem with account permissions.
